Meet the Coaches...

Assistant Coach Lindsay (Far Left)

I began coaching volleyball in college and have held a variety of roles over the years at the High School level, camps, Club, private lessons and fall leagues. I am an Elk River High School alum and played collegiately as an Outside Hitter at South Dakota State and St. Cloud State. I have been coaching JV for the Girls High School team for five years. My husband, three daughters, son and I reside in Elk River and I work at Elk River High School.

I enjoy being outdoors, cooking/baking, hiking, reading, English Setters, and watching our kids compete in sports!

Assistant Coach Nate (2nd from Left)

This is Coach Nate's 2nd season coaching and 2nd season with the boys volleyball program. Ever since attending North Dakota State University he has been playing volleyball in leagues and many tournaments. Playing volleyball in high school was something he wished he would have had the opportunity to do and wants to help the boys learn and have fun playing the game.

Since graduating college, coach Nate has worked for a Colorado based consulting firm as a software consultant, which develops and maintains local and state government software systems.

Head Varsity Coach Misty (2nd from Right)

Misty lives in Elk River with her husband, Bob, their two sons, Jacob and Jamison, and their dogs, Mabel and Marvin. Family is at the heart of everything she does, and she deeply values time with loved ones.

She works full-time for Penn Mutual, serves as Director of Elk River Youth Volleyball, and is passionate about mental health awareness and suicide prevention in the community and local schools.

In 2025, Misty was honored to serve as Head Varsity Coach for the inaugural season of Elk River High School Boys Volleyball, helping launch the sport’s first officially sanctioned high school season in Minnesota. A lifelong athlete and multi-sport college competitor, she has been coaching for more than 32 years.

Misty is passionate about developing athletes both on and off the court. She focuses on building confidence, creating a strong team culture, and helping every player feel valued, supported, and empowered.

JV Coach McKenna (Far Right)

Coach McKenna is in her fourth year of coaching and her fourth season with the boys volleyball program. A lifelong volleyball lover, she first fell in love with the game at age seven and still plays whenever she can.

She works at Meadowvale Elementary School as a special education paraprofessional in the Journey program and is pursuing a degree in special education. She is passionate about helping students learn and grow, and is also involved in a volunteer group that supports young adults with special needs while helping them grow in faith.

McKenna joined the boys volleyball program in 2022 as a team manager, became a JV2 assistant coach in 2024, and now serves as Head Coach for JV. She also coaches girls' volleyball and club volleyball. Inspired by the coaches who shaped her life, she is passionate about making a positive impact on her athletes.
